"Generation Now"
What happened to the teens of today?
The ones who once knew love
Where did they fade away? Into the dust?
Like the ashes of a fire?
Where was the once aflame for truth?
The justice, just as fair
Should I know what is fun and games?
Should I know the difference?
I cannot tell when to be
The sensitive side of me
So someone tell me, this I pray
To help me discern these things today.
But what of those who cannot feel?
I fear I may have failed
And left them to just rot inside
Like what is soon to come.
When can tricks turn nasty?
When can friends stab in the back?
How can they refrain their pain?
How can you know what hurts?
But who is she to complain.
They do not touch her.
Does she want them to realise?
Does she want them to shake her up?
Or does she drown with silent screams
And fade away like dust?
What happened to the life now?
When did it cease to be?
From where did every tear come from
That filled the oceans high?
Indeed the love is hidden
And innocence is dead
Just when you think you know it all
Perhaps you’d think again.
