Home - People and Places
When the plane landed on the runway, I was home.
When I felt the hot tropical air on my face, I was home.
When the dust in the old apartment rustled, I was home.
When the tears dripped as I left Singapore, I had been home.
When my father, mother, two older brothers and I are united, I am home.
When we all play together, I am home.
When the tension of annoyance is forgotten, I am home.
When nothing but joy and kindness stand between us, I am home.
When I enter the narrow gate, I will be home.
When I stand beside my father, I will be home.
When all the tears and wounds are healed, I will be home.
When I lose my life and my joy is complete, I will be home.
"Were you there??"
I saw her, I met her, I sure spoke with her
I turned away just for a moment
And in that moment she walked away
For i turned back and she was gone,
As though you had never been there.
"Dragon heart"
The war is done, the battle fought,
The victims among the rotting or caught.
The soldiers have fallen, their loved ones alone,
The dragon’s heart broken, and changed into stone.
Neither side won, neither has lost.
Both lay defeated, and paid a huge cost.
Endeavour to save the dragon from death
Has brought nothing the saving but anger and wrath.Actually i wanted to send this out a while ago, but i couldn't quite get the last line. Now it's finally finished!
I am...the "First and Last"
The first to rise
The last to fall
The first to go
The last to stall
The first to rhyme
The last to speak
The first of strong
The last of weak
The first to plan
The last to act
The first to flinch
The last react
The first to run
The last to walk
The first to sing
The last to talk
The first advance
The last retreat
The first victor
The last defeat
The first inside
The last one out
The first to grin
The last to pout
The first to cheer
The last to grieve
The first to give
The last receive
The first arrived
The last to leave.
"Unfair"
The dragon flies, the lion roars
The sunset screams in pain
The moon conquers the sunset
And the sunrise wins again.
The stars explode through outer space
The griffin bears its claws
The mountain shoots its lava fire
And smoke burns from its flaws.
The lightning splits the stormy skies
The hawk swoops in the air
The shark swallows the kraken
In a war that once was fair.
"Point of Weakness"
The shell is broken. Cracks line the walls of the hull.
The contents are draining away from inside
The eyes are dry with hollowness
The tongue sticks to the roof of the mouth,
As meaning drains from the soul
Life, once a raging fire, is almost gone
The way it came, fleetingly,
Also it departs from the body,
Leaving nothing but the empty husk
With barely a memory of its former existence,
Just a trail where fungi grows.
"Generation Now"
What happened to the teens of today?
The ones who once knew love
Where did they fade away? Into the dust?
Like the ashes of a fire?
Where was the once aflame for truth?
The justice, just as fair
Should I know what is fun and games?
Should I know the difference?
I cannot tell when to be
The sensitive side of me
So someone tell me, this I pray
To help me discern these things today.
But what of those who cannot feel?
I fear I may have failed
And left them to just rot inside
Like what is soon to come.
When can tricks turn nasty?
When can friends stab in the back?
How can they refrain their pain?
How can you know what hurts?
But who is she to complain.
They do not touch her.
Does she want them to realise?
Does she want them to shake her up?
Or does she drown with silent screams
And fade away like dust?
What happened to the life now?
When did it cease to be?
From where did every tear come from
That filled the oceans high?
Indeed the love is hidden
And innocence is dead
Just when you think you know it all
Perhaps you’d think again.
"Going by"
Another year, another day
The good times come, and fade away
The sad times bring tears to my eye
I look back now, and heave a sigh.
Watch another year go by
I’m looking back, and I ask why
The time with friends I all forget,
The joyous times the slip I let
Why did I never treasure fun
As often as the rising sun?
But stressing over work to do
Instead of spending time with you?
"Random"
Found a bunch of random poems
That I’d written long ago
They described a thousand countries
From the springtime to the snow
Opened up that secret box
Looking over ancient scrawls
There was nothing, nothing there
Neither trace of love nor brawls
Till I came upon a passage
Where the letters filled the page
Of the feelings to a loved one
Was it love? Or more like rage?
I remembered naught at first
When the rain started to pour
But the sound upon my eardrums
Brought the key, unlocked the door.
