A poem of my friend for my friend
My friend requested I write a poem of her today, and because I was in a cheery mood, I happily obliged. Eagerly she asked if she could compose a tune to accompany it, for she enjoys music, and is talented with notes. Upon beginning it, I found that there were both happy and sad things about her, and since she commented that if it were too exalting of her, she would not create an accompanying tune. Anyway, here it is:
(Chrous)
I know a friend from far away
Who's still with me this very day
Her worth to me is more than gold
And warms me up when I am cold.
Her voice trascends to heavenly realms,
And wisdom anoints her lips.
The law of the Lord is on her mind
And laughter radiates.
(Chorus)
She grows so blind to what she's worth --
It really drives me mad;
Especially when she thinks she's failed,
My heart for her is sad.
(Chorus)
How dare she tell me she's a burden!?!
Burden I am to her.
She is a blessing in every way --
An angel in my life of gray.
(Chrous)
I know a friend from far away
Who's still with me this very day
Her worth to me is more than gold
And warms me up when I am cold.
Her voice trascends to heavenly realms,
And wisdom anoints her lips.
The law of the Lord is on her mind
And laughter radiates.
(Chorus)
She grows so blind to what she's worth --
It really drives me mad;
Especially when she thinks she's failed,
My heart for her is sad.
(Chorus)
How dare she tell me she's a burden!?!
Burden I am to her.
She is a blessing in every way --
An angel in my life of gray.
